I saw this rather interesting parking lot a few days ago. Let’s suppose the Mini is a stick just to give it a chance. Which would you take?
I’m just about to drive to New nan, which means two hours on the road which is fine. I’ll be rocking out for the entire time.

The mini might be more refined , but the Mustang would be my choice.

The Fox is a no brainer for me. Not really that quick, but they sound great.
But 80s Japanese pickup trucks are a hell of a lot of fun in their own way as long as they're manuals.

“Mini”
Mustang
Pickup
Van
Possibly another color could have put the Mustang over the top, but if I’m getting an ‘80s- mobile I need it to at least be a look I like.

A bit of cropping and removal of the Mini and that picture could be out of the late ‘80s or early ‘90s.

And the Nissan is pretty rare anywhere, much less rust free in that condition. I wonder why those didn't stick around like 80s Toyota trucks.

The storefront and colors really make the scene.

Yes, the "Mini" would be nice but maybe not have the same soul as the others.

This one was Nissan branded. I wonder why those have all but disappeared from the streets while the contemporary Toyotas soldier on.

I approve of this ranking.

1. Fox Body Mustang.
2. The unattached cinderblock.

That's half a cinder block, so I think you're getting hosed in this deal when there is a perfectly fine Nissan nearby, which is easily worth a whole cinder block.

I think there were fewer of them to begin with, and probably not as reliable as the Toyotas are (which isn’t a criticism, those Yotas are legendary), which maybe explains most of the difference. But those are guesses on my part. They’re still really good trucks.

Didn't they start out life as Datsuns? I wasn't alive then so I really am just surmising.

Nissan was Datsun until around 1984 or so in the US, so yeah.
They spent a lot of money switching the brand name. Always seemed strange to me - Datsun had a lot of brand equity by that point.

You almost gotta think that there really wasn't much reason to. That was a massive campaign and the brand perception stayed pretty much the same.
